vibeffect® welcomes Jonathan Kaplan to the Board to continue expansion as the leading AI-informed SaaS company for improving student yield and retention in higher education
Washington, DC – March 2, 2020 – vibeffect® has announced a restructuring of its leadership by appointing Jonathan Kaplan as non-executive Board Chair and Bimal Gandhi to the Board. In addition, Fernando Valenzuela joins as Special Advisor to the board for Latin America.
A cutting edge ed-tech company, vibeffect® employs a Smart Nurture™ system to help drive student enrollment and retention. vibeffect is working with universities and online program management companies (OPMs) as well as with research institutions, including Johns Hopkin University’s Whiting College of Engineering’s Education Innovation Center and ASU’s EdTech accelerator, ASU ScaleU.
“One of the reasons I’m joining the board is that vibeffect® can have a profound impact on completion by using data and adaptive messaging to engage current and prospective students,” said Jonathan Kaplan. Kaplan has served in a variety of leadership positions in higher education, most recently as President and CEO of Walden University.
Bimal Gandhi, one of the first equity investors when vibeffect® formed, has more than 25 years of global experience across the management consulting, technology, and financial services industries, is currently chief executive officer of Uniken inc.
“vibeffect® brings the missing element colleges and students need in the enrollment process – engagement and information using machine learning. It’s great to be involved with a company that can help prospective college students make the right decision for their future.”
Fernando Valenzuela was recently selected as one of the 100 influencers by EdTech Digest. Valenzuela served as President for Latin American Market for both Cengage Learning and McGraw Hill. He has held several executive global positions at companies such as Hewlett Packard, Ticketmaster, and EDS.
“The Latin American market is one of the fastest growing markets for higher education, and there is a tremendous need for applications of AI to create efficiencies and better outcomes for enrollment. The behavioral science behind vibeffect’s approach is universal and can work well in Latin America or anywhere that people are motivated to get a higher education credential,” said Valenzuela.
“It is an honor to have these seasoned executives joining our team and bringing their blend of expertise and networks to help vibeffect® achieve our vision of assisting colleges in overcoming 21st century challenges with 21st century technology,” said Elena Cox, vibeffect® Chief Executive Officer & Co-founder.
Prior to restructuring in January 2020, vibeffect® raised $3.9M, with original investors continuing to provide capital for growth. The company is currently exploring Series A financing and welcomes interested parties to contact email@example.com.
